Born and raised in a small town in Newfoundland, Canada, Russ's interest in technology started at age 11 when his family bought a Commodore VIC-20, which included a book on how to program in BASIC. Happily married, Russ and his wife Paula enjoy a blended family of five children, accompanied by three dogs and two prairie dogs.

In his spare time, you can find Russ traveling with his wife, riding motorcycles, listening to live music, tinkering with home automation, IoT, robotics, and eating bacon.
